what's that on your upper lip?

So yesterday when I picked up Lovebug from school we talked about how his day went and what he learned in school for the day.

What I learned today Lovebug said was that , "Isaac has fur on his upper lip."

I am so glad I was at the stop sign because I turned around and said, WHAT??? (hysterically laughing)

Lovebug: Yeah, Isaac has fur on his lip.

Mom: Are you sure it wasn't a kool-aid mustache?

Lovebug: No, mom he has fur now Trenton has a kool-aid mustache.

Mom: How do you know it's fur?

Lovebug: Because I got up close to him & it's fur, mom!!

Mom: (laughing hysterically) It's peach fuzz sweetie.

Lovebug: Huh? Peach fuzz what's that?

Mom: The fur you are talking about. Every one has peach fuzz growing on their upper lip but on some you can see it more than others.

Lovebug: No, mom I don't have fur.

By the time we got to Nana & Popo's house I could not stop laughing.

This is my daily dosage of Guess What I found out today....something new.

Wonder what he will come up with today when I pick him up....hummmm?

shadows, shadows, shadows

So yesterday was Groundhog's Day...aren't we glad we don't have to keep repeating & repeating Groundhog's Day over & over :)

Anyways, so Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow so that means six more weeks of this lousey cold weather. I am really ready for some Spring time weather and I think Lovebug is about had it with this cold weather. Yeah, even though he enjoys himself some cold weather I think it's finally taking a toll on him. I really think it's because I have him all bundled up & he's about had it with that..ha!!

We woke up yesterday and we were watching "The Early Show" which we do every morning and Lovebug was like, "Mom, did the groundhog see his shadow?" I told him I wasn't too sure but to keep watching the news because I was pretty sure they were going to announce it anytime. Sure enough I was in the kitchen & Lovebug comes running around the corner yelling...."Mom, the groundhog saw his shadow...that means six more weeks of winter...gosh."

Like my mom says that's what men predict but it's really up to God so if God wants us to have six more weeks of winter so be it but I would really wish he would consider giving us an early Spring.

Yesterday was my daddy's birthday....yes I know I am a day late but I have a lot on my plate right now that getting to sit at the computer just isn't a priority right now.

But, Lovebug and I wanted to wish grandpa a very happy birthday. Sooooo......

Even though we don't get to see him as often as we would like we do get to talk to him. He makes sure he calls at least once a week but here lately he's been calling me every day which I am enjoying :) just to see how we are doing and to check to see how I am feeling. A couple of weeks ago I was in the hospital and had a procedure done...but that's a whole other post.

Grandpa, we hope that you had an enjoyable day and God continues to bless you each and every day. Thank you for everything that you do for the both of us and also continue to do for us.

It seems like every toy or electronic Lovebug owns is either made in China or Mexico or some other foreign country.

Why is nothing made in the good old USA?

Lovebug's response to that......because it's a whole lot cheaper to make them in other countries than here.

Now let me remind all of you this is a seven year old talking and he already knows about the economic situation....WOW is all I can say. Lately he has had this obsession with looking at every toy or electronic that he owns or even for that matter all the other items in the house just to see where they are made. They all end up saying China or Mexico....What???

Lovebug is constantly reminding me....."Because it's cheaper mom.....remember."

It was too funny because the other day I received an email and this gentleman was disgusted also about that fact that nothing is made here in the USA. He was saying that there are few items made here and that we needed to purchase those items and then only buy American made. Well, that would be nice BUT everything is made somewhere else.

I replied back to my friend that sent me the email and told him that Lovebug & I were just talking about that same situation and about his obsession of wanting to know where all his stuff is made at and then I explained that Lovebug told me it was cheaper to make somewhere else.

His response.....he said that I was obviously raising a very smart son and that when he grew up and if Lovebug ever ran for Governor of Texas he was definitely going to be voting for him.

Hmmm......Lovebug the future Governor of Texas.....not bad!!!

Hello blog world!!!

I know that I have been neglecting my blog but I have a good reason. I have been very busy since the start of November up until now :)

But, I promise that as soon as everything slows down which should be this month hopefully I will get on track & start blogging more. I have a lot of stuff to update all of you on and I promise to start ASAP.

So it seems like all of my posts lately have been about birthdays but like I said in my last post...all of the boys birthdays are at the end of the year.

Yesterday was Popo's birthday...I know a day behind but I was "Betty Crocker" yesterday. From baking cakes, to making turtles...yumm-ooo...chocolate chip cookies and banana cream pies. So yeah I was a little busy.

But, we didn't forget that it was Popo's birthday...the cake was for him :)

Happy Birthday Uncle Art

I was a little spacey yesterday & I was meaning to post this but time got away.....BUT yesterday was my brother's birthday!!

So close to the end of the year we have all the boys birthdays starting in November and December so they get Double the Pleasure!!

We called him as we were on our way out the door to wish him a Happy birthday and we thought that we were going to wake him up because he is one of the lucky people who are off on Friday's and this year it so happened that my brothers birthday fell on a Friday...how great is that..not having to go to work & get to sleep in just a little. But noooo, not Uncle Art, he was already out hunting....IN THE COLD!! That's what he enjoys the most.

Uncle Art, Lovebug & I just wanted to wish you a wonderful birthday and we hope that you had an awesome day!! Just wanted to let you know that we appreciate all the things that you have done and continue to do for the both of us. I just wish that we lived a whole lot closer to one another so that we were able to do things together so when you and Roger come into town I or should I say WE cherish the moments that we do get to spend together.

Today my baby brother is celebrating his birthday.

Lovebug and I just wanted to wish you a wonderful day and to let you know that you have been a huge blessing in both of our lives. Even though I have a child of my own, brother, I want you to know that I still consider you my baby, still.
I still remember the day you were born & dad came to get me from school & told me that mom had had the baby and I right away asked what she had and dad proceeded to tell me that she had a boy. Ohhh I was soooo upset that I told dad...Well send him back, I wanted a girl. But, once I saw you I was head over heels for you. I feel in love with you instantly. You were my baby brother & I wouldn't trade you for the world.

Now you have a mini-Roger...my son. He is the spitting image of you and he reminds me of you in so many ways that it seems like I am reliving my younger years through him.

The best part of this birthday is that you get to go and see the Cowboys play the Redskins tomorrow. How awesome is that? What a great birthday present!!!


Thank goodness for great parents, huh? Nana and Popo couldn't make it to the game so they were so generous in giving the tickets to my brother and my dad. So they both get to go see the game in the brand new stadium. How great is that? Awesome!!!

Brother, hope you had a wonderful birthday today and enjoy the game tomorrow. You and dad have the time of your lives tomorrow and take lots and lots of pictures.

Happy Birthday Lovebug!!

So today is my Lovebug's 7th birthday.

WoW....is all I can say.

Time sure is flying by. You are already in the first grade & turning seven. I want you to stay my baby forever. I know that you will always & forever be my baby but I want you to stay a baby.

You have no earthly idea how much joy you bring me each and every day of our lives. I am or should I say we (our family) are so blessed to have you in our lives. The good Lord knew what he was doing when he placed you into our lives. I just thank God each and every day for you.

I love you so much Lovebug that words can not even begin to explain how much I love you. I hope that you had a wonderful day and that God continues to bless you. We were blessed that you were able to spend your day and celebrate it with your wonderful family and friends.

You are a child of God. You are also a "Warrior of God" that is what your Nana has claimed for you ever since the day you were born. We know that God has great plans for you.

Happy 7th Birthday Lovebug!!!

chilly days

So this morning we woke up to some pretty chilly weather. So what does that mean....many more to come...yuck. I am not too fond to cold weather. On the other hand, Lovebug just loves it.

Since it was chillly, I thought it would be a perfect day to make some homemade chicken pot pie..yumm-oooo!!!! Yes, I made it myself...thank goodness Lovebug likes his veggies because I kind of went overboard on the veggies...opps!!! This is not the actual picture because at the moment mine is baking in the oven. But it is going to look like this more or less.

Then Lovebug said, "Mom why don't we make those Halloween cookies." So before I placed the pot pies in the oven we decided to pop these babies in the oven and in no time they were ready.

What a perfect day for some baking and a good way to warm up the house because even though it's chilly outside I don't think it's time to start using the heater. I think I would have someone here complaining about how hot it is in here.

Got to go check my pot pies and go check how the Cowboys are doing. Hopefully, they will play a whole lot better than last week :)
