Happy Birthday Popo!!

So it seems like all of my posts lately have been about birthdays but like I said in my last post...all of the boys birthdays are at the end of the year.

Yesterday was Popo's birthday...I know a day behind but I was "Betty Crocker" yesterday. From baking cakes, to making turtles...yumm-ooo...chocolate chip cookies and banana cream pies. So yeah I was a little busy.

But, we didn't forget that it was Popo's birthday...the cake was for him :)

Happy Birthday Uncle Art

I was a little spacey yesterday & I was meaning to post this but time got away.....BUT yesterday was my brother's birthday!!

So close to the end of the year we have all the boys birthdays starting in November and December so they get Double the Pleasure!!

We called him as we were on our way out the door to wish him a Happy birthday and we thought that we were going to wake him up because he is one of the lucky people who are off on Friday's and this year it so happened that my brothers birthday fell on a Friday...how great is that..not having to go to work & get to sleep in just a little. But noooo, not Uncle Art, he was already out hunting....IN THE COLD!! That's what he enjoys the most.

Uncle Art, Lovebug & I just wanted to wish you a wonderful birthday and we hope that you had an awesome day!! Just wanted to let you know that we appreciate all the things that you have done and continue to do for the both of us. I just wish that we lived a whole lot closer to one another so that we were able to do things together so when you and Roger come into town I or should I say WE cherish the moments that we do get to spend together.

Happy Birthday Uncle Roger

Today my baby brother is celebrating his birthday.

Lovebug and I just wanted to wish you a wonderful day and to let you know that you have been a huge blessing in both of our lives. Even though I have a child of my own, brother, I want you to know that I still consider you my baby, still.
I still remember the day you were born & dad came to get me from school & told me that mom had had the baby and I right away asked what she had and dad proceeded to tell me that she had a boy. Ohhh I was soooo upset that I told dad...Well send him back, I wanted a girl. But, once I saw you I was head over heels for you. I feel in love with you instantly. You were my baby brother & I wouldn't trade you for the world.

Now you have a mini-Roger...my son. He is the spitting image of you and he reminds me of you in so many ways that it seems like I am reliving my younger years through him.

The best part of this birthday is that you get to go and see the Cowboys play the Redskins tomorrow. How awesome is that? What a great birthday present!!!


Thank goodness for great parents, huh? Nana and Popo couldn't make it to the game so they were so generous in giving the tickets to my brother and my dad. So they both get to go see the game in the brand new stadium. How great is that? Awesome!!!

Brother, hope you had a wonderful birthday today and enjoy the game tomorrow. You and dad have the time of your lives tomorrow and take lots and lots of pictures.

Lovebugs Mom

happy birthday lovebug!!!

So today is my Lovebug's 7th birthday.

WoW....is all I can say.

Time sure is flying by. You are already in the first grade & turning seven. I want you to stay my baby forever. I know that you will always & forever be my baby but I want you to stay a baby.

You have no earthly idea how much joy you bring me each and every day of our lives. I am or should I say we (our family) are so blessed to have you in our lives. The good Lord knew what he was doing when he placed you into our lives. I just thank God each and every day for you.

I love you so much Lovebug that words can not even begin to explain how much I love you. I hope that you had a wonderful day and that God continues to bless you. We were blessed that you were able to spend your day and celebrate it with your wonderful family and friends.

You are a child of God. You are also a "Warrior of God" that is what your Nana has claimed for you ever since the day you were born. We know that God has great plans for you.

I love you Lovebug and I hope that you had a wonderful birthday.

Happy 7th Birthday Lovebug!!!

chilly days

So this morning we woke up to some pretty chilly weather. So what does that mean....many more to come...yuck. I am not too fond to cold weather. On the other hand, Lovebug just loves it.

Since it was chillly, I thought it would be a perfect day to make some homemade chicken pot pie..yumm-oooo!!!! Yes, I made it myself...thank goodness Lovebug likes his veggies because I kind of went overboard on the veggies...opps!!! This is not the actual picture because at the moment mine is baking in the oven. But it is going to look like this more or less.

Then Lovebug said, "Mom why don't we make those Halloween cookies." So before I placed the pot pies in the oven we decided to pop these babies in the oven and in no time they were ready.

What a perfect day for some baking and a good way to warm up the house because even though it's chilly outside I don't think it's time to start using the heater. I think I would have someone here complaining about how hot it is in here.

Got to go check my pot pies and go check how the Cowboys are doing. Hopefully, they will play a whole lot better than last week :)

autumn is here!!

Today is officially the first day of fall. Yippee, Lovebug and I are so excited that fall has arrived.

I just wish I had enough time to do this to my front door....isn't it beautiful. Fall is one of my favorite times of the year....Spring is my other one. I just love when fall arrives because of all the color changes of the leaves. I just love all the reds, oranges, browns and yellows...ummm mix them all up together and you come up with this......

SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL!!!

This is the time of year that I love to do all of my baking....umm pumpkin bread, pumpkin pies and pumpkin empanadas.....simply delicious. Bring out the baking pans!! Just the aroma of pumpkin lingering throughout the house....one word....WONDERFUL!!

If it was up to Lovebug, he would love to have winter here. He enjoys fall just as much as his momma but I think he still prefers winter anytime of the year. He's very hot natured....just like his popo and uncles so that explains it all.

So it's time to start bringing out the fall and winter clothing because it feels like we are going to have an early winter. After all these hot days that we have had in West Texas we are looking forward to some cool days.....not too cool, I mean cold. This morning was just the beginning of cool mornings. I wasn't really thinking that it was going to be that cool this morning but after the nice thunderstorm that the good Lord provided us with this beautiful morning....it was COLD.

I am not ready for winter just cooler days.

best day ever!!!

September 4, 2009 is the best day ever!!!

Why?

Because today is the day that my Lovebug asked Jesus to come into his life!!! Yes, my little lovebug is a born again Christian and my heart is jumping for joy BUT can you imagine Jesus' heart. WOW...is all I can say.

As I sit here and type this tears are streaming down my face because I am so overjoyed!!! My little lovebug has sooo much FAITH that I see him and I want to be just like him. He watches and hears everything that we do. When my mom prays over him or any one of us or just praying in general...Lovebug is always alert and listening.

It is wonderful to see him so full of Faith and wanting to know more and more about Jesus each and every day. I know he listens when we pray because today well for a couple of days now I have been fighting a horrible migraine and while I was sitting and waiting for the computer to download some stuff....Lovebug came over and laid hands on my head and asked Jesus to take away his momma's horrible headache and to curse it by the roots and make it all better.

Now, I know that my baby is listening and praying right along side all of us. If this makes my heart swell....I can just imagine how Jesus' heart is swelling everytime my baby prays.

It's so awesome to hear him pray and have so much Faith. It's also so awesome to hear him sing in the car or in the tub while taking his bath or just waiting at Nana's house in the morning waiting to go to school and to hear him sing all the songs that he is listening to on K-Love...a Christian radio station. I just love to hear him sing a Jeremy Camp song or a MercyMe song or any other song that comes on the radio. Once again my heart begins to swell.

I just wanted to let you all know that today was the Best day ever!!!!

My Lovebug is a Child of God!!!!!!

Wow in a couple of months my baby will be celebrating his 7th birthday.

7th birthday....where did the time go?

He is just growing up way too fast. I still remember the day that my little lovebug was born and remember having a conversation with my mom that we won't believe it when he turns one or even five years old. And yet now he will be turning SEVEN. My goodness before I know it he will be TEN.

WHAT...I want my baby to stay a baby. I know in my heart that he will always be my baby...I am just being selfish and I don't want him to grow up. He's a momma's boy...which aren't all boys momma's boys?

I just don't want him to grow up any more. If I could preserve him and keep him this way forever...I would. I know I am being selfish....BUT he's my baby and always will be.

I love you Lovebug....mucho, mucho!!!!
